|
|
Welcome to Mass-Killa's hybrid character guide. This is my very first guide ever, so bear with me a little bit. My experiences come as of now from a level 24 hybrid future assassin, with 10 close and 14 range. About 3 days of play or so. Anyway, let us begin.
This guide will include things like:
What is a hybrid?
What are other terms used for this game?
Where do I level a hybrid?
What is the best way to level a hybrid?
How should I decide what gear to get for a hybrid?
First off, Let me explain what exactly a hybrid is. The technical definition for hybrid is "Something of mixed origin or composition." Taken from dictionary.com. What this means in the Decide universe is that your made up of two or more skills, and your not just used for one thing. Like you use both bow AND sword, or both Magic and a bow, etc. . .Some classes that are considered hybrid are classes like Paladin, Assasin, Bandit, Shaman, etc. . .
(To see a list of all the classes, go here http://deicide.ongameport.com/sub_page/03_Introduction.php )
Now on to terms that I will use throughout this guide. Many of you have heard these terms before, but here they are again.
Kiting - The act of hitting a monster then running away some, and hitting again. This skill prevents you from taking damage, while still dealing damage to the monster. It is a very effective skill to master. (Not an actual skill scroll, but a player skill, one you yourself do).
PVP - Player versus Player - The aspect of one or more players fighting against eachother to kill one another. This include Guild vs Guild battles, One vs One battles, and Party vs Party Battles.
PK - Player Killing - Though this isnt seen much yet, be ready for it as more people move in.
Looting - The act of stealing someone elses loot, or just picking up your own loot. Loot is the items a monster drops. Ex. A pirates gold is his Loot.
On to the real guide. Now, when you create your character, I suggest you put your stat points into what you plan on being mainly. Strentgh(Str) is mainly used for warriors, MAYBE Ranged also, This Im not sure about yet. Str helps with damage and raises HP Dexterity is used so you dont miss monsters. It also raises MP and HP, but not as much as Str or Int. This helps for ranged attacks. Intelligence helps with magic damage, and MP.
On to leveling. The quickest way to begin leveling in my eyes is to pick your hybrid class. Of the two attack classes you wish to use, whether it be range and close, or dark and white magic, just pick one for now. I suggest leveling the harder one first, and to me, the list of easiest to hardest to level goes like this.(Remember, from easiest to hardest)
Dark Magic
White Magic
Ranged
Close
Now this is only for hybrid builds that I feel this way.
Basically, The way I recommend you level is to get TWO levels of your harder attack skill, then only One of your easier skill. This keeps them alternate, but also levels up your harder attack skill first. Basically, you want your skills to be no more than 2 levels apart at most, when you reach, say, Close level 2, level up range level 1, or whatever your skills are. Then get close level 3, and range level 2. Now on to Where to level.
Where to level?
Well, Where to level is probably the most dificult part, believe it or not. Since at level 20, you will probably be the equivalent of a level 10 of something with the attacks you are using.
For levels 1 - (7-10)
Kill Carnival Rats, Beholders, and Hatchlings
Obviosly this is the first place you spawn at, and the easiest place to level. Carnival Rats and Beholders you SHOULD be able to kill very easily, and if you keep at them long enough, they drop decent gear. I got myself a kings bow from them and its not HORRIBLE money there if you kill long enough. Hatchlings are on the outscirts of the map, and are agro. They shoot fireballs at you that can hit for roughly 20 damage with no armor, so watch for them.
Now, I say 7-10 because though you can leave at 7 and kill zombie dogs and hatchlings, it still takes a while, Remember, At 7, you are only the equivalent of a level 4 and a level 3 of something. I stayed here until level 10, Got myself the best bow and sword I could, and then moved on at level 10. It was hell, but It got me an easier kill at the zombies and stuff.
Level 10 - (13-17)
Kill Zombie Dogs, Evil Dogs, and Hatchlings
Zombie Dogs and Evil Dogs are moreless useless. Use them to make money to buy the best armor you can for whatever Attack Skill Class you Chose to keep ahead of the other. On these, if your a bow or a mage, This is where Kiting comes in handy. Kiting will basically be used here on out unles your a close range person. But, Use these kills and drops here to buy you the best armor you can, and the sooner you do this, the sooner you can move on to goblins.
Level ? - (17-1
Goblins, Goblin Lancers, and King Beholders
Well, Now that you have got your best armors and weapons you can possibly get, its time to move on to the goblins. I recommend finishing off your harder attack skill class here, or atleast getting it to or past 10 (depending on what hybrid class your going). King beholders are your best experience here, but be careful, they hurt. If you can, use kiting. If your using close, then be prepared to regen a lot, or buy potions. Be careful here, Goblin lancers AND king beholders are both aggro, and you will probably die if you get more than one on you at a time.Anyway, once your 17 or 18, whatever you choose, I suggest we move on to orcs.
Level 18 - 20
Orcs, Orc Archers, King Beholders
One thing I have to say here first. AVOID ORC ARCHERS AT ALL COSTS. Run from them if you ever see them. They are ranged aggro and they HURT. They WILL kill you if you stay near them for to long. Anyway, by this time, your weaker attack skill SHOULD be maxed, and hopefully all you have left is just lots and lots of kiting to do. Now the Orcs are not aggro, so you can take your time with them, Wait til the area is clear before you start attacking them. (otherwise wait til theres no aggro monsters around) You can still kill King Beholders if you wish to, but they not as good Experience. After yo hit level 20, head on to the next map, and where things start getting hard.
Level 20 - ?
Zombies, Hobgoblins, Werewolves.
Currently, this is where I am at. As I am a level 24 Close/Range (10/14) character, who is going for assassin. Though I am killing zombies, and have been since level 20. Avoiding hobgoblins is the key thing on leveling here, because they give less xp, are a little harder, and have horrible drops. Zombies have very good drops, and can make you pretty rich if you kill enough of them. They drop many class change scrolls and just skill scrolls, as well as enchant cards. Its worth staying here for 5+ levels IMO. Werewolves..Just forget about em. They are on the bottom half of the map, and you should just avoid them. The best place for zombies I will leave you to figure out. Good luck to ya there. Also, there are pirhannahs here, They are decent xp, They drop skill scrolls pretty easily, But they hurt, and are hard to kite, because there is so many of them and they are only in one spot.
This concludes where to level for now. (More to come soon as I gain more levels myself -_-)
How should I decide what gear to get for a hybrid?
There are three (3) types of gear in Decide.
Ranged Class Armor
Close Attack Class Armor
Casters Armor (Magic classes)
The Armors may be equipped in whatever level you are, but remember when I told you to get 2 levels first in your weaker attack class, this is why. Your armor's Defense ONLY counts IF it is the type of your HIGHEST attack class skill level. Once two or more levels become the same, the defense gear is useless. If your weaker is 10, and when your other level becomes 10 and you have to buy new armors, Its worth it. It may set you back about 7k, but thats chump change later, Dont worry about it now.
Also, theres armor if youve noticed that has a Rank 2 Under it.
What Weapons Should I get?
Weapons is a good question. Honostly, weapons are a lot more important than armors. "The best defense is a good Offense" Though Defense is very important to, Doing damage is the best way to kill, and quite frankly, the easiest. I recommend getting the best possible weapons you can, ASAP. They may be a bit expensive, but its easy to make up the money you need for them. If you have to, buy the cheaper best weapon for your lesser class, and try and get some quick cash that way. But just make sure you have the best you can buy of weapons ASAP, because damage is not something youll be very good at as a hybrid class.
What is Rank x gear? (x being any number)
Armors come in ranks. The higher the rank, the better the armor. The downside, and though Im not sure what the level requirements are after rank 2, is that for rank 2, you have to be level 30, Yes, LEVEL 30, to use.
So then, Why make a hybrid class you ask? It seems they suck, have many disadvantages and such. Well, hybrid classes can use more than one attack strategy, and they get certain "Advanced" skills that the pure classes dont have. A list of all of these advanced skills can be found Here:
http://deicide.ongameport.com/sub_page/03_Advanced_skill.php
*Note, Assassin and bandit are switched here, Bandit is a close attack skill called burrow, requires a 1 handed sword, and is 15 close, 10 range. While the assassin skill is stealth, and is a ranged attack skill, and requires a ranged attack weapon, and the requirement are 15 ranged, 10 close.
And I believe that hybrids are meant to be better in pvp. When everyone starts getting into the game, and guilds start coming out and being made. We shall see some guild wars, fighting for castles and towns, and THIS is where I believe that these hybrid classes will be effective.
As of now, I feel the best way to level a hybrid when the game itself is released is to party. If they EVER fix partying to actually share Experience, Then it will be the best way to level a hybrid class. Anyway, this is Mass-Killa's Guide to a hybrid class. I will edit this more as I level more and experience more of the game. As of now, I am done. Thank you all for reading this guide, hope you all enjoy it and learn from it. |

Loki, your best bet as of now is 2 do one of two things. Either:
A: Save a little money, level a little slower. Level your bow skills up 2 times to level 4, but first level your close to ALMOST level 3. Purchase the full, yes FULL archer armor set asap after the best bow.
OR
B: Level up your close to level 4, and bow ALMOST to level 3 and buy a full set of close range gear. The only downside is that you will lose a little money, but having the more def, Its like 5 more def (5 less damage a hit) makes leveling to roughly 20, a lot easier, and faster. But at 21 you have to buy the ranger set anyway. It sets you back maybe 3-4k. Not TOO much.
Just make sure that whichever way you go, the class armor you choose, close or ranged, make sure the level is ATLEAST one level higher so the defense actually counts. Anyway, hope this helps out. Also, for the close range, brass is nice cause you can use shield, but I got the best 2-handed sword I could get. It seemed to work well for leveling purposes. It doesnt really matter though I guess, the small defense from shield compared to the damage dealt isnt THAT big of a difference. |
